The arid environment at 9,200 ft may be quite different than where you live. You will want to have sun protection, so bring a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen (spf 50), chapstick, refillable water bottles.
Dressing in layers is helpful. A hoodie sweatshirt and a long sleeve wind shirt is an item you will wear in the morning and evening to be comfortable.
Hydrating is a must for being in the mountains. Some people experience a headache the day after arrival. Hydrating on the way to Divide and after arrival will help alleviate this issue.
